Thanks! It is a self-proclaimed “Abandoned EDC” Shieldon Knives channel! Previously, I posted an article about black rust processing on a Mora knife, but at that time I processed it with tea and citric acid. But that method takes a lot of time. Doesn’t it? Good news for you who are thinking “Is there any easier and better way …” There is a method to apply black rust processing in an instant. [Super easy] I tried to apply black rust processing to the Mora knife [MORA KNIV]
Black rust processing with gun blue
I think people who like air guns are familiar with it, but you can do black rust processing with a chemical called “Gun Blue”. Moreover, it’s in an instant. It’s super easy to do, just apply the Gun blue solution to the knife.
This is the case, but I sell it to military shops. Well, that’s why I want to process black rust with this immediately. First of all, this guy called Gun Blue is very bad for the human body. So if you use it, please do not touch it.
Remove rust and dirt from the knife
First you need to remove the rust and dirt on the knife. Otherwise, it will not be dyed beautifully. I would like to reprocess the black rusted Mora knife in the previous article.

The rust has been removed and the hair has been sharpened to a level where it can be easily shaved. The knife is now ready.
Paint with a brush

Put the required amount in another container and apply with a flat brush. If you make a mistake, do not put the brush directly into the bottle and apply it. The solution inside will react and deteriorate. As you can see by pasting the video below, it really turns black in an instant. If you do not apply it quickly, it will be uneven, so be careful.
Remove black rust on the edges
Finally, remove the black rust on the edge (bevel) with a grindstone. It doesn’t matter if you do this or not. I think this is more beautiful for the purpose I saw, so I’ll do it. After all, the black rust on this part will come off if you use it.
Complete

I was able to do it. Black rust has settled cleanly despite the fact that I did it quickly. I stopped my hand at the moment when it turned black to take a video, and that part became a little uneven, but it is acceptable. It takes about 10 minutes to reach this point. It takes about 2 hours to do with tea and lemon juice. How easy and instant it is to process black rust even with gun blue. There are some parts that are difficult to understand from the image, so I summarized it in a video. By processing with black rust, the corrosion resistance is dramatically improved, and the appearance is astringent and cool. If you have a carbon steel knife at hand, we recommend trying black rust processing. Knife is LOVE.
